You should be careful with FlashGet, check their forums for "interesting" behaviour.

Indeed, the feature that would check if the ed file(s) on my list were updated on a server(s), and if true, to the updated file(s), is really why I have to use FlashGet, though I would like to use FDM.

Never had any problems with that feature in FlashGet (I use Classic, 1.73 version).
