Re: All feature requests (Please post requests here) 652v1
I use FDM with FlashGot. On YouTube videos, FlashGot intercepts the stream and can send it to FDM for .
Unfortunately, once in FDM this defaults to the filename "videoplayback". The Comment section contains the title of the video on YouTube. I've been cutting and pasting the comment as the filename, but this is getting tiring. Could you add a button or option to use the comment as the filename?

FDM has already got an option to add comment to a filename.
For all new s: go to FDM menu Options | Settings | | New s, click "Advanced" button, go to "Miscellaneous" tab and mark "Append comment to the filename when done".
For seperate new s: click "Advanced" button in "Add " dialog window, go to "Miscellaneous" tab etc.

Apologies if this has been requested earlier, but I can't see it anywhere - how about the ability or FDM to look at the contents of .asx files to find embedded streams and allow these to be ed separately? Flashget has this function and I use it quite a lot...
Great product, definitely in my toolkit from now on

File \ Import \ Import DL from other managers -> Master need!
Tried File \ Import \ list of DLs \ xml -> on DM's xml DL-list file - fail.

Re: All feature requests (Please post requests here) 652v1
please remove per connection limit(current is 20).
I'm on 200mbit connection and often big files from fast servers(1gbit and up).
I want fdm to be faster than old buggy reget...

ability to select files prior to starting the . As of now, has to first start/stop/pause the and then travel to menus to find the files tab and then has to uncheck the unwanted files.

Re: All feature requests (Please post requests here) 652v1
Again Alex & co.
I am asking for a very concrete solution.
Please port the Free manager to Linux.(ubuntu brainstorm is not helping)
It is a really great tool, which I have used during my
windows time, and I still use it for huge s.
(One of two things preventing me from wiping my NTFS partition & windows)
FDM is available under GPL and it is coded in C++
Love to see it on par with windows version(as a true Foss lover)
as under wine its very buggy(& slow)
Please guys show some opensource love
You guys can port it so please do

Re: All feature requests (Please post requests here) 652v1
Any love for parity archives and the ability to file sets and (optionally) fix missing / broken files using .PAR files?
Not necessarily a top priority I know, but it would be nice....

Re: All feature requests (Please post requests here) 652v1
Another feature request. If a file hash is entered, and then upon beginning the , if the filename is found to exist, can you compare hash? If different then allow client to automatically do (as sets in options):
Since you can already compare a to its hash, you have he core to generate any hash of any file. So, I'm guessing this would not be too hard to implement....
I used to use (back in the day) some er called Cer (?) - a Chinese built er that ed a small bit of the file and compared it to existing files on the local folder and it would know when a file already existed or not, saving the burden of having to the entire file only to realize that you wasted the time.
I realize that BW is cheap these days, but still, the files we DL are also a lot larger than 15 years ago, so it is worth a shot.
Finally, my apologies if this (or my previous post) has already been requested. I started thumbing through each individual page trying to see if they had been but did not find much, and got lazy. I tried to search but could not find any relevant posts, either, but I was not very diligent in my searching.
- Replace
- Rename
