Fatal Browser-Monitoring Error Returns c5q5q

Lost as Usual » Tue Feb 05, 2008 9:08 pm

With the release of Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b4pre) Gecko/2008020504 Minefield/3.0b4pre - Build ID: 2008020504, today's update to Minefield (the Firefox 3 Beta-test releases), the Free Manager's monitoring option for Firefox has again become fatal.

When the FDM extension is installed in this release of Minefield, clicking the right mouse button, instead of bringing up the main context menu, causes Minefield to crash. This problem is repeatable, and is eliminated by disabling the FDM extension.

This was a long-standing error that FDM fixed not long ago; unfortunately, something that has changed in Minefield has caused the FDM error to recur.

[EDIT] Either Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b4pre) Gecko/2008020604 Minefield/3.0b4pre - Build ID: 2008020604 or Build 747 of FDM appears to have fixed the problem.

I realized as I awoke this morning that I had failed to state what build of FDM I was using, which was 738. I subsequently updated Minefield to the latest nightly, then FDM to Build 747. To my surprise, delight, bewilderment, "whateverment," when I told Build 747 to monitor Firefox, and restated Minefield, I found the FDM extension installed, and also found that right-clicking no longer crashed Minefield (aka Firefox.)
