How to Disable BT (torrent) Feature in Free Manager (FDM) 211l47

IDM » Sun Sep 22, 2024 3:41 am

Hi all,

I’m using Free Manager (FDM) and need some assistance. My primary use case involves ing .torrent files themselves without automatically triggering the BitTorrent (BT) .

Currently, when I a torrent file, FDM automatically converts it into a BT task and starts ing the content. However, I’d like to disable this feature. I only want to the .torrent file and initiate the BT manually if I choose to do so.

Is there a way to configure FDM so that it does not automatically create BT tasks for torrent files, and only starts BT s when I manually execute the task?

Thanks in advance for any guidance or suggestions!

Hello,
Such a feature does not exist in FDM. Why not just .torrent files using your web browser?

Hi,

Thanks for your response! The main reason I prefer using FDM to .torrent files is that it allows me to specify a custom directory, which is different from the browser’s default folder. This helps me keep my s organized.

However, I still want to prevent FDM from automatically starting the BT after ing the torrent file. I only need the torrent file to be saved in the specified folder, and I’d like to manually initiate the BT when I’m ready.

If there’s a way to achieve this, or if there’s a setting I might have missed, I’d appreciate any further guidance.

Thanks again!

The only way is to just delete sbt.dll file in the FDM installation folder. Then FDM will not be able to any torrent.

Thank you for the suggestion!

Since I’m using the macOS version of FDM, there isn’t a sbt.dll file. Could you advise if there’s an equivalent file or plugin I can remove or disable in the macOS version to achieve the same effect of preventing automatic torrent s? If so, could you please guide me on how to do that?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello,
You'll have to remove all /Applications/Free Manager.app/Contents/Frameworks/libsbt*.dylib files.
