Hi. I've used FDM for some time now, especially the site explorer, and I salute the developers for making the best accelerator i've ever used, ahead of every FTP client i've tried. I'll go straight to explainig my problem.

The new version (3.9.7) seems to have a problem with ssl certificates wich makes it impossible for me to use the site explorer as the certificate used in the server (seedbox via https) I from is not a "official" and FDM does not allow me to "continue anyway" as other browsers would. This has already been reported here and since I did not find any solution, I started using version 3.9.6 build 1614 which does not seem to have tha problem. Beeing able to ignore this certificate issue would be very nice.

Now to the more urgent bug, which happens in both versions (3.9.6 and 3.9.7). When trying to files, instead of ing the files from the server, FDM s a file in the same extension as the would be file. Opening such file using the notepad yields the following text:

Authorization Required

This server could not that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad ), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.

This problem has already been reported in this topic http://www.freemanager.telechargerjeux.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16847&p=38685&hilit=authorization+required&sid=d60e2c6089bfddfca1d49d421a35ff70#p38685

The problem I'm facing is basicly the same. has already been saved in the site explorer settings, site explorer browses without problems, but some files end up not beeing ed and instead I receive the error file. And just like the post in the link, this does not happen to all files and is folder independent (i.e.: one folder has 5 files and only 1 file has this problem).

Unlike the on the linked topic, I do not have the option to use FTP protocol, only sFTP (wich the FDM site explorer does not seem to ), http and https (this last one is prefferrable, for obvious reasons, but cant be used in the 3.9.7 version of FDM, as stated earlier). ing straight from Fire Fox or using a FTP client or any accelerator/manager goes as expected.

Is there any solution other than using the FTP protocol? I would use an FTP client, none I've tried have been able to to max my bandwidth.

Update
The error seems file size dependent. A file of 1,4GB ed normally, whereas a larger 2,5GB could not be correctly ed due to the error.

Is there any chance you could update the icon? Although FDM 5 lacks all the features I need, it has a beautiful icon.

Hi,
It looks like FDM 3.9.7 seems to have started using (would say hijacked as in the jargon, but don't want to offend any developer unintentionally) some shortcuts like CTRL-T (new tab in Firefox), CTRL-V (left to the reader to guess what it is), etc. And looking through its options, I'm not able to find a way to disable them.

The version I have says 3.9.7 build 1627, and I think it's stayed at that for a while and this problem wasn't there, so I'm not sure how this change has happened.

These shortcuts seem to be FDM 5* features, from an internet search, so I'm also not sure how they would also seep into the 3* (maybe working in silos is good for once...), but I'd appreciate if anyone can point out how to disable them (or inform what needs to happen if I'm completely mistaken about the cause).

And if the 3.9.7-1627 is actually getting updated with these or other changes, it would be good to perhaps add another number (1627.*?) to indicate, which I'd assume you'd agree. If it's getting updated in-place with the same version/build/etc. numbers, that can't be good for any software.

Thanks, and I appreciate again all the work done for the tool.

Dear !

FDM_3.9.7 does not use shortcuts.
Please describe it in more details. When and how do the shortcuts work? When did it start?

Clive

Thank you, Clive, for the response -- that's good to know. The conclusion I jumped into probably shows how I'm not an add-on developer...

I also take it as that the version+build number specifies a unique FDM 3.9.7 release (i.e. no multiple releases using the same combination of the two numbers -- if this is not correct, please feel free to correct).

Then, it's probably one of the other extensions using the FDM (e.g. FlashGot, even though that is not listing any shortcut use in its description and options), if not the latest version of Firefox itself. So I'll need to do some weeding out (there are a number of them I have that I think invoke FDM, and disabling all add-ons would also disable FDM I'm guessing), and report back.

Sorry for lack of more details in the first post. It started happening in the last month. Happens with multiple shortcut keys, but the simplest example probably is selecting the URL in the address bar and then doing a Ctrl-C to copy it, but that brings up the FDM window with the URL being copied pasted in the address area.

Thanks.

I realize that all development is going to FDM5.1 now.
FDM5.1 may be the latest, greatest, but I still much prefer the way FDM3 works. I also refer the FDM3 interface.

Now I don't expect any new development to FDM3, but it would be nice if the parts that are not working properly were fixed. I'm actually referring to the youtube s here, which work well in FDM5.1 but not in FDM3.

Use the link from the very first message in this topic. Any problem with it?
Remove all older s with fdminst.exe from your FDM list, from FDM history list and from disk if needed, then try once again.

AFAIK FDM 3.x has NO v3 plugin. What "v3 plugin" do you mean?

There is no older version, I removed them before adding this new one-I do recall older FDM version didn't do this if you left it idle after it finished a task.

The plugin shows up in FF plugins options field. That is where it is residing at. If one doesn't close FDM after it has ed the resident task bar FDM will crash and the plugin will stop working to catch link in FF if left as is. But if you close FDM down and use it another time later in the day it will run again without problem.

So what FDM version have you ed and installed now?

StormJumper wrote:The plugin shows up in FF plugins options field.
There is NO PLUGIN for FDM. When you open "Add-ons" tab, there should be an extension visible, named "Free Manager extension", and when you click "More" link, you should see "Free Manager extension 2.1.11" if you have installed the latest FDM 3.9.7 build properly.

I don't understand this explanation. Please, use simple English and describe step-by-step, what exactly actions you have done and what exactly results you have got. Otherwise noone will be able to reproduce your steps and really help you.

Note that:
- FDM 3.x crashes usually because of broken or too large *.sav files.
- FDM extension may cause crash because of conflicts with other add-ons or because of webpage/javascript code deliberately broken/obfuscated to block managers.

Ok, I have FF49.0.2 open with various anime sites with torrent links opened. When I click on a torrent link FDM will catch the link but since I am not using it to I hit "cancel" and the torrent program catches the torrent link and opens and starts the . And this is when it leaves the FDM program running in the task bar and a quick link on the lower right on my desktop. But should I fail to close it - it eventually stops working and only way to get it working again is to restart to get FDM to work again. And this time I did close it but now it failed to catch the torrent link instead goes straight to the torrent program to start the torrent .

Note past FDM v3 didn't crash before that I recalled. I had no problem with including large anime movies by FDM itself.

Now I understand, it's something really strange. I will try to reproduce this behaviour on other torrent sites, but I suspect it's some conflict of add-ons.
What is "the torrent program" that "catches the torrent link"?
Why don't you just turn off torrent in FDM?
