I'm using FDM v2.5.724 and it works with RS without the need of IE:
1. to your RS.com Zone, open/click the Options button, activate the direct feature, and -optional- choose your preferred network link
2. Open FDM' site manager > right click > choose Add Site (or via menu bar: Site Manager > Add Site) or press Ctrl+I in any area of FDM.
3a. General tab:
3b. Advanced tab: enable all the checkboxes.
Now, whenever you click any RS link (or copy to clipboard from any application, provided that you enable clipboard monitoring in FDM), the details will be filled in automatically, and will start automatically (or manually, if you choose so).

Well FDM totally doesn't work with rapidshare . I've done my best configuring it, and with all the suggestions given. Back to flashget.

I'm ing from rapidshare with fdm, even though most people could get it to work why would you say that it doesn't. This just drives me insane.
If you don't choose direct from rapidshare website under the options menu you first have to choose from which mirror u will be ing the files. Trying to them without the direct option will forward you to a web page.
If you have the direct options checked then there is no need for the cookies or logging in again to the files. Enter the s to the fdm, the first time you enter the you will be prompted to save it.
I'm copying a list of files and using ctrl shift + v all files are in the list.

I started using FDM about aprx 3 months ago and aprx 3 gigabytes since then and 80% s are from rapidshare using the free acc. But since two weeks ago, i can't even for a byte from rapidshare as usually from FDM... Now, i don't using any maneger, but it's sucks. My s often broken when ing and i must start from begining.
If someone know what happend, please tell me and the forums.
Thx

Thing is, i've done all everyone's said.. I've enabled the direct within RS, i've entered the s on the FDM program correctly (I've tried several times), but it simply refused to anything. It gave me some kind of error message, and wouldn't a single byte. I tested the same link with flashget and it worked like a charm.
Oh btw, the only thing I didn't do was to log on the RS with IE and leave the cookies on. I don't use IE at all. Perhaps that's the problem. But as a , I don't think RS tracks by cookies though.

Give flashget a shot. it's always worked with RS, and is one of the ers RS recommends. Don't use the latest version though. I've heard that it's bundled with spyware. Use google to get 1.7x version.

I don't think logging in is the problem as a , but give it a shot it doesn't take too long.
what was the error message, did you try searching it?
I got a couple of errors this morning and it was because the files were corrupt, but in your case flashget s normally so that wouldn't be the problem.

What I found was, when I copy pasted a RS link into FMD it connected to the site and ed 6k and said file done (completed). I open it and it said file is eighter unknown damaged or incomplete !! I haven't entered any s as such nor subscribed to RS as I thought by doing this would defeat the object of free ing
i had a similar problem, but with the rapidshare and i solved it using the advice from this topic: i logged in rapidshare through IE and edited settings for rapidshare.com in the site manager by adding my name and . now fdm + flashgot a list of urls of any length without a problem.

What I don't understand is, why does using FDM requires one to log on to RS using IE, but this isn't required when using flashget?

It doesn't. I use it all the time with FDM with or without FlashGet. In fact, I really like the remote control server. I can set batch s to on my 2k3 Server by pasting the links using IE and not suffer the overhead that the IO activity causes on my local machine.
What happens when you try to ? As far as the free s go, RS has always stated that they might or they might not work. However, if you have a , you shouldn't have any problems. In the site manager, make sure that you haven't specified one of RS's servers. In the site manager, it should only say rapidshare.com, that way it will work as a wild card for RS's subdomains.
There have been some times that I've had problems connecting to RS via FDM. In those cases though, all I had to do was shut down and restart FDM.
Good Luck

sorry for bumping , but I couldnt find this on the FDM website , this should be added into the rapidshare guide , without doing this ,every time I pasted rapidshare links it wouldnt the file , but only a ~6000 byte thing.

I just ed from rapidshare without or anything by just checking the " is required"-checkbox and typing the code you got to write when you want to something without .
You have to write a name because FDM wants one, I just wrote one(I guess rapidshare doesn't ask, so FDM doesn't send it, so you can write what you want)

This method does not always work.... 90% of the time it does, but I have tried to multiple things from RS and two will and the 3rd will fail giving me a 6Kb file that just contains HTML, and if I look at the log for the s I see that for the failed that the "Cookie: =" string is not sent with my information, but for the successful s it is. I have the site manager setup for rapidshare.com, and if I paste the
URL for the into my browser and let it save to disk I can the file, so I know the link is good. Why FDM decides not to send the information I have no idea, but that seems to be a problem. If you have a RS , turn on "detailed log" under Options-> Options->All s, there is a box you can tick. Then look at the log tab when a fails from RS and see if a Cookie is being sent with your info, if not you can be pretty sure that is what is happening, and you will have to use the browser to the file because I can't find a way to force FDM to send the info, even if I manually fill in the name and and tick the " is required" in the " Properties" dialog box, it still refuses to send it for some reason.. Anybody have any idea why that would be..

Like ChalkTrauma said, the problem is with the cookies being sent or not.
Seems like FDM only sends HTTP authentication information if the server asks for authentication (even if you tick the box and enter your ). As rapidshare answers with a HTML page if you do not send authentication, FDM then s that HTML code.
When FDM and rapidshare work for me, FDM uses a cookie to authenticate. I have no Idea how this works and where the cookie is from. I use Firefox only, but will try using the IE cookie method next time.
