Left clicking in IE does not invoke FDM 6u1q6o
Hi all,
I think I might me missing something. FDM is running but when I left click a link (i.e. a movie file) instead of FDM doing the ing, the .mpg files starts playing in Windows Media Player. Furthermore, if I right click the same file and choose " by FDM" it works fine.
Any Ideas? I have something miss configured right?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
if I the days without FDM and with IE (;-)), there was the same thing with some sites (and especially with media files): if you left-click, you see the file streamed in IE, if you right-click, you can it on your HDD.
I think this is the same scheme. If you have activated the monitoring option for IE in the FDM preferences, there isn't much more you could do else (if there is something).
An example-url would be helpfull.

Thanks for the input Der Nekromant,
The thing that is even stranger is that if I'm not mistaken I actually had this "feature" working but since I wasn't very familiar with FDM I purposely started to see what different options would do and maybe that broke it? I've tried reinstalling it, uninstalling/reinstalling but no difference.
Sample URL http://www.xboxyde.com/news_2494_en.html
At the bottom of the first post click on File : Forbidden games (96.93 MB) (352x288)
On the new page, near the bottom, under the Direct Section click on (new window)
On that new page click Click to begin your high speed
I hope this isn't confusing, but they don’t accept direct linking so I wanted to make sure you would get to the file.
**BTW, I tried ing the same file (and other "suspect files") with "Star er Free" and it has no problems**
I really do think I have something set wrong.
As always, any help would be appreciated.

With my FDM, it works in IE, Firefox and Netscape.
What about: Options--> Options-->Start automatically?
You could also search for a "set to default" option in FDM (I haven't found any, but that doesn't say anything
). If something is set wrong, the problem should be fixed after that.

Followed your advice Der and "Start Automatically" is checked...I looked at all the other options and FDM acts accordingly when I enable or disable something....it's just this one HUGE
time saver feature. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Thanks
