To email attachments I just uninstall FDM but that's inconvenient. What's a better way?

Try switching protocol to IE

- Go to: Tools > Options > Monitoring Tab
- Check "Allow the browser to if you press cancel"

Now when you select an email attachment and pops up in FDM you can press cancel and it will be ed back to your browser.
