Hi all,
when there are 2 Firefox windows then FDM switches to the other windows when a is started and the window looses the focus.
Is this a known issue?

I have the same problem, although I'm using only 1 Firefox window. Firefox loses focus after s are confirmed.
It'd make life much easier if I didn't have to Alt+Tab back to Firefox every time.

I can confirm this behaviour too. The focus has been set to the application I used before the .
Hence in my first note one of two Firefox instances had the focus before the .
I'm not sure when the focus is set to the previous active window.

I don't have that problem but maybe I don't understand what you mean. See if this helps, in Options> General settings> General tab> System, make sure the boxes Minimize to tray and Close button minimizes window are ticked. Then close or minimize FDM to tray, and add a new . Do you still lose focus?

I checked the settings and in the General Tab of General Settigns all options are selected.
I just ed a file (3 Firefox windows open) and just after clicking the confirming the OK for the int dialog box the previous firefox window came on top. Version is 2.5 Build 755.

I'm not able to duplicate that behavior in FF 2.0.0.12, even with 3 instances of FF open. What happens if you run FF in safe mode (to rule out an add-on problem)?

Usually I'm working with 2 firefox Windows. But I had even the same behaviour when using only a single firefox instance. The focus has been transfered to Outlook, which I used just before. That's what I found out so far.
Sometimes it works (the active firefox windows stays on top) and sometimes it doesn't, but both on a daily basis.
Finnaly I've no idea how to reproduce or narrow down the problem.

I think what's happening is Outlook is frequently checking or receiving mail, so Windows is considering that to be the last active window. Or, it's just a Windows supremacy thing. Try turning off automated mail check but leave Outlook running. Then try another and see...

I don't think it's due to Outlook, because it also happens between two different firefox windows while Outlook is running at the same time.
I noticed that it switches to window just used before the . It's mostly firefox because I'm using 2 firefox instances when ing.
While writing this note a started a in another firefox windos. The add dialogue appeared, then the dialog to confirm how to proceed when the already exists and confirming to proceed this window got the focus (even without having outlook running).

I don't know, Carlos. I just tried to duplicate it again, but for me the focus always stays on the window I started the from. Maybe someone else will come along with a solution for you.

Here is a video demonstrating the lose-focus problem I'm having:
http://jy87.blip.tv/file/706097/
Note that mine is a bit different: only the main window loses focus, without switching to another window. Hopefully, this is related to the problem the others are having and not considered "normal behaviour".
I used CamStudio for the screen-capture, which is also free and open-source: http://www.camstudio.org/
Sorry about the quality of the video.

I even thought to take a video, but I didn't so far.
Unfortunately the focus switch can't be seen in your video.

I just captured a video the shows the focus switch. But the size is 11MB.
So I've no idea where to put the video.

Sorry if I didn't make it obvious in the video: the title-bar, which was blue in color when active, turned gray (inactive) after confirming the . At the end of the video, I brought the cursor up to the title-bar (to be obvious) to click it and make it active again.
As I said before, my lose-focus problem is a bit different than yours (the latter of which, as you pointed out, is more of a switch-focus problem), and I hope what is on the video isn't considered a non-problem, even if it is just an annoyance.
As for the screen-capture, I had it at about your video size too (slightly more than 10MB). I didn't have much time to scour around for a good program, but I settled with Kate's Video Cutter. It's an okay program that crops and re-compresses videos (in my case, to a lower quality of around 3MB or so).

As for where to the video: any video hosting service is fine. YouTube supposedly compresses your videos to somewhat low quality (and thus small), so that might be a good place to start if you have a large video.
