fdm don't work with ftp at all 181o6r

fdm does not from ftp at all. why? it pops up the window that says 0% and doesn't anything or do anything. names etc are correct and even anon doesn't make a difference. using the site explorer in fdm doesn't do anything either.

Are you using a proxy?

FDM expects pure FTP and HTTPS proxys, thats why you can't using those protocols when behind most kinds of proxys.

ive mode has nothing to do with this. FDM has no for FTP/HTTPS over HTTP, so I use DownThemAll with Firefox when I have to get something from HTTPS or FTP sites.

I must add Reget is the only DM I know to work fine over proxys like Squid.

1. FTP is not HTTPS
2. FTP over HTTP is a bad (old) workaround, that should have never worked
3. HTTP over HTTPS makes no sense as HTTPS means Secure HTTP -> SSL encrypted traffic (so HTTPS IS HTTP + encryption)
4. HTTPS works only with browsers/ DM's that SSL (most DM's don't)
5. FTP usually works, except if some / is needed (but not correctly provided)

3. HTTP and HTTPS are two different things, not just HTTP+SSL. HTTPS allows outbound tunneling in the same fashion SOCKS does. The encryption in the connection implies a direct connection between the client and the server.

I have the same Problem, but I think the problem is not the proxy, its the firewall. Although I alowed All addresses/ports HTTP/UDP In/Out, in a rule for FDM, It is not agree to show me its smile when i try to Kickass some ftp links.
btw, never mind, I use NetAnts, to from ftp.
