Some s from sourceforge.net don't work as expected, eg if I add http://s.sourceforge.net/cracklib/cracklib-2.8.9.tar.gz to the s the url will be rewritten to http://sourceforge.net/project/ing.php?groupname=cracklib&filename=cracklib-2.8.9.tar.gz&use_mirror=switch
and the file I get is ing.php
What's wrong? What can I do to avoid such behavior?
Regards

Same problem here. I use Firefox.

In this case I imported the URLs from a file, so it doesn't matter which browser I use. In the file was only the URL like mentionend ealier.

Perhaps the log helps

Okay, all the s seem to moved permanetly, according to the log.
But why is after redirection the ing.php ed instead of the file? Is there any option I have to activate?

Any suggestions for a fix?

I have the same problem, as well.
What I do to prevent the problem is just press then press the stop button before FDM catches it. Then, I just simply click on the from direct source link, and it fixes the problem.
You can do that for a fix right now, until the FDM staff fixes this problem.

You can select a Default Mirror (if you allow cookies from SF) or use "SourceForge Direct " from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1436/
Also the FDM Firefox plugin is too greedy, use FlashGot instead.

How do we set a default mirror?
What do you mean "too greedy"? How is FlashGot better?

You can set a default mirror at SF. When it gives you the list of mirrors, you can choose one to use all the time.

AFAIK FDM lugin captures all s while FlashGot can discriminate by file type and gives you the option of using Firefox to the file. This is useful when ing files which are small or have an HTTP(POST) method which FDM can't (yet!!) handle.
Problem when ing from SF.net with Firefox 4b2c2
Hi! I have the same problem here. With FDM, Firefox and FDM you get only the .php file. With Internet Explorer you get the desired file with no problems.
The problem with Firefox is the lack of the Referer information. It shows about:blank for any that you try. In IE the Referer info is correct so you get the desired file. With the correct Referer, Firefox also s the desired file with no problems.
Best Regards.

If nothing works for you just right click the link behind the "this direct link" text in the "ing ..." page and select " with FDM" or "... with Flashgot" or whatever. It might solve the redirection issue. I use FF2+Flashgot and in those rare cases in which FDM gets lost to ".php" this is what I do y it works 100% of the time.
